Ask Your Senator to Support International Basic Education in FY27
This week is Global Action Week for Education, highlighting the urgent need for stronger education financing worldwide. That urgency is front and center in Congress right now as lawmakers decide whether to invest in global education programs that reduce the conditions that fuel conflict, increase a child’s future earnings, and strengthen stability at home and abroad.
With your help, last month’s bipartisan House letter led by Reps. Quigley and Fitzpatrick secured 110 signatures in support of a $970 million investment in the FY27 budget. Now the Senate has launched its own effort: a letter led by Senator Van Hollen urging strong support for global basic education, with an April 28 deadline for senators to sign on.
Your senators need to hear from you now to keep this momentum going.
Access to quality education remains one of the most effective and affordable ways to promote stability and expand opportunity for children and families. Urging your senators to sign the Van Hollen letter reinforces the importance many advocates place on U.S. leadership in global education.
