Take Action to End Period Poverty
Millions of people in the U.S. struggle to access the menstrual products they need. You can help change that.
Girl Up and the Global Campaign for Education‑US are urging supporters to contact Congress about the Good Samaritan Menstrual Products Act (H.R. 6212) — a bipartisan bill that would make it easier to donate menstrual products to communities in need.
Right now, certain menstrual products are classified as “Class 2” medical devices, a designation that discourages donations and limits access. The Good Samaritan Menstrual Products Act would remove these barriers by offering liability protection for individuals, manufacturers, distributors, and nonprofits that donate or distribute menstrual products in good faith. The bill is modeled after the successful Good Samaritan Food Donations Act of 1996.
Period poverty affects education, health, dignity, and opportunity. By urging your representatives to support this legislation, you help ensure that everyone who menstruates can access the supplies they need.
Use the form below to send a message to your elected officials. It takes less than a minute, and your voice brings us closer to a world where every girl — and every person who menstruates — can manage their period with dignity.
