- GCE-US continues to engage in the appropriations process, both for FY2021 and for emergency funding related to COVID-19. We know that now, more than ever, robust funding for basic education is necessary, and we must find and implement creative and effective solutions to provide inclusive, quality education during a global pandemic. While we await the Senate's version of the State and Foreign Operations Bill, we support the House of Representative's topline number of $975 million for international basic education.
- We are also working alongside the humanitarian community to request global funding in the next emergency funding bill to address COVID-19, including critical resources for children learning around the world with the Global Partnership for Education and Education Cannot Wait.
- Thank you to all policymakers, members, advocates and partners who have supported this advocacy! If you would like to get more involved, please contact: Suzanne Berman (sberman@gce-us.org).
