On July 12, 2023, GCE-US convened our July Coalition Meeting in Honor of Malala Day! Our discussion revolved around making education more available for girls and breaking down gender barriers.

       Youth and Student Leadership to Defend Access to Education

The Global Campaign for Education recently announced the launch of a two-year youth and students’ advocacy project, "Youth Leadership for Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development," from July 2023 to June 2025.

With funding from the United Nations Democratic Fund (UNDEF), GCE will work with ten student organizations globally to ensure that young people can take the lead on defending access to education within their communities. 

🎉 This is a great step forward in youth and student engagement!

 

Spotlight: GEM Report Release! ✨

2023 Global Education Monitoring Report on Technology in Education: A Tool on Whose Terms?

🎒 On July 26th, UNESCO announced the release of the 2023 Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report! The theme revolves around the use of technology in education: what it's doing well, how it could be improved in educational landscapes and more. A key takeaway? The focus should be on learning outcomes, accessible learning, and teacher support instead of digital inputs.

💙 UNA-USA is working on a Youth Declaration of Human Rights by American youth set to launch in December this year! Youth activists are invited to attend consultations about humanitarian causes or share their thoughts on UNA's padlet.
