GCE-US Update, Transition, and Introduction

Announcement from Jennifer Rigg, Executive Director of GCE-US:

Dear friends and colleagues,

After a truly rewarding experience at the Global Campaign for Education-US (GCE-US) as Executive Director since fall 2015, and over fifteen years of involvement with the GCE movement, I’m writing to let you know that I will begin as Director, University Engagement, at the Peace Corps on February 12, 2024.

We're delighted to introduce Interim Executive Director June Jimenez (bio below), who will be working with GCE-US during this transition time.

June Jimenez is President and CEO of Tama Solutions, an experienced interim executive director, and an organizational development consultant to mission-focused organizations. June's work focuses on the people, systems, processes and technology needed to help organizations deliver their missions while experiencing tremendous change. June brings over 20 years of professional experience to each engagement gained through her work across the nonprofit, government and private sectors. Previous strategic planning engagements include: Miles4Migrants, an international human rights / migrant serving organization, and the Center for Asian Pacific American Women. June received her Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and received her Global Executive MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Please join me in welcoming June and thanking the incredible group that makes up the GCE-US family! I have every confidence in the outstanding team that will be steering GCE-US’s transition and guiding the organization’s future development. I would like to express my tremendous appreciation to GCE-US staff, board members, coalition members, student fellows, youth leaders, volunteers, advocates, donors, supporters, and partners dedicated to ensuring quality, inclusive, universal education for all. I am so proud of what we have accomplished together and will be forever grateful to be part of the GCE-US movement. Thank you for the opportunity to see first-hand so much passion, commitment, partnership, engagement, and hope. It has been a great privilege, and I look forward to seeing GCE-US continue to grow and develop.

Please continue and expand your dedicated support for GCE-US during this transition by:

1. Supporting the GCE-US team and the fantastic GCE-US student fellows. We would love help and ideas especially during this transition time – for example, as co-chairs, facilitators, speakers at upcoming coalition meetings, and/or leaders for key meetings and congressional engagement.

2. Donating and contributing to sustain GCE-US’s important work to ensure quality, inclusive, universal education for all: https://gce-us.salsalabs.org/donate

3. Advocating for READ Act Reauthorization and vital international basic education fundinghttps://www.gce-us.org/act-with-gce-us/

4. Sharing this opportunity with your networks and those that would be a good fit as GCE-US looks for its next Executive Director: https://www.gce-us.org/gce-us-executive-director-position-announcement/

I look forward to collaborating in new and exciting ways, and hope you will stay in touch. In case we’re not already connected on LinkedIn, I can be reached here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jrigg1

With deepest gratitude,

Jennifer Rigg
