ActionAid, Education International, Light for the World, and others look at the current state of inclusive education, and the realistic requirements for investing in an education workforce that can support disability inclusive education systems. World Teachers' Day: "Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future" by Megan Testen This year, World Teachers’ Day honored teachers with the theme, "Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future." The day honors and celebrates the teaching profession worldwide, takes stock of achievements, and draws attention to the voices of teachers, who are at the heart of efforts to attain the global education target of leaving no one behind. Investing in Our Future in a COVID Complex World by Megan Testen At the World Bank Civil Society Forum, we joined ECDAN, ChildFund International, Light for the World, PATH, Save the Children International and UNICEF, with support from OSF, to highlight the impact of major disruptions in services for the nurturing care and development of all young children as a result of COVID-19, presented a new Cost of Inaction for Young Children tool, and identified pathways to increase investments for young children. |
| | | Inspiration: Thank you, Congresswoman Lowey! GCE-US thanks Congresswoman Nita Lowey for her decades of dedication to international basic education. She will retire from Congress in January after 32 years of service, throughout which she consistently prioritized quality, universal education for all. We thank Congresswoman Lowey for her leadership, support, time, and dedication to the betterment of education for all. Thanks to her advocacy and commitment, more children around the world, including girls, marginalized groups, children with disabilities, and young people in conflict settings, have the opportunity to learn and grow to their full potential.
